Joseph L. Mitchell
Investment Management Consultant
Joseph serves a wide spectrum of successful individuals and corporations throughout the
United States. He uses his strong listening skills to learn about their life experiences,
identify their objectives, and discover the impetus for moving forward.
He conducts himself with empathy, integrity, and loyalty, so his clients can be confident in
knowing he will not only do what he says he will but do what’s right.
While already well-established in his career, Joseph joined Raymond James in October 2018
because of the firm’s industry-leading support, comprehensive client service, and robust
financial planning and investment resources. Previously, he was a financial advisor at
Edward Jones Investments, and a financial services representative at New England Financial.
He earned his B.S. Journalism and his MBA from Ohio University.
As an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®), Joseph has specialized training in
investments, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate planning issues. He is also an
Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), with in-depth knowledge of company retirement plan
design, implementation, and operation, including fiduciary issues.
Joseph has held numerous prominent positions with organizations throughout the community.
Over the years, he has served as a trustee and on the grant committee of the Union County
Foundation:, board chair of the Marysville Union County Port Authority: the steering
committee for Memorial Health Foundation; and board president of the Union County Chamber of
Commerce.
A 25-year cancer survivor, Joseph is a long-time participant in Pelotonia, a fundraising
100-mile bike ride benefiting cancer research at The James Cancer Hospital and Solove
Research Institute at The Ohio State University. Joseph is also a practitioner of Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu.
Joseph is originally from Toledo. He and his wife Janet reside in Marysville with Jasper,
their chocolate lab. They attend Urbana Grace Church.
